Clay and Jan have recently entered retirement, but you would not know it by their busy lives.

Clay has completed numerous wine studies classes including the Wine Studies & Wine Service Certification Programs at the Institute for Culinary Education at College of the Canyons, courses within the Court of Master Sommeliers, and has his Wine and Spirit Education Trust Level 2 Certificate. He is enrolling this fall for the Level 3 WSET Certificate. Clay has always had a passion for the various aspects of wine (the history of wine, vineyards, wine making, etc.) and spends time traveling to the various wine regions of France and Italy as well as California’s many world-famous regions. He is fully involved in the manufacturing of wine and derives great satisfaction in producing wine that others find delicious, a yearning he continues at Wine Resources LLC.

Clay retired in January of 2016 from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department after 32 years of service. His last assignment was at Scientific Services Bureau, more commonly known as the “Crime Lab.” He is now passing along his knowledge of police work by teaching at College of the Canyons in the Administration of Justice program.

Jan has been Clay’s better half for more than 36 years. Actually, it’s been longer than that as they met each other when they were 5 years old, growing up on the same street.

Jan also has a love of wine, having gained much of her knowledge while traveling with Clay. She enjoys assisting in all facets within the wine realm. Additionally, she brings over 40 years of paralegal experience to the business, specializing in civil and business law. Her organizational skills and attention to detail have been instrumental in the formation of Wine Resources LLC. When not engaged in wine activities, Jan enjoys RVing with Clay, world traveling with their friends and participating in several non-profit organizations.
